Radar Signals

The Radar Festival
The Radar Festival is the best competition anywhere on the planet for aspiring music video directors. Radar provides a means for talented new directors to get industry attention and access to professional work.

"I would definitely recommend the contest to others (and already have!) … you get great tracks to choose from, it's a festival that's getting big and the exposure is tremendous if you're one of the finalists" Kim Albright, Label Winner.

Radar is partnering with x labels and x production companies to generate opportunities for new talent. Prizes include professional label commissions, production company representation, professional mentoring and cash prizes. Radar offers finalists a level of promotion and exposure difficult to achieve elsewhere, including promotion in industry media and touring to music festivals.

The competition is open to anyone, any age or background as long as you haven't previously been paid as a professional music video director. To enter, choose a track, make a promo, fill out our entry forms and upload to our private viewing site. The competition is open June to end Sept 2007. There are entry fees which escalate over time, but there will be a three week window straight after the launch for free entries. All the details you'll need you can find on the new site www.radarfestival.com, which goes live at the Festival launch.

About us
The Radar Festival was set up to discover and promote new music video director talent. We think music videos are great and that they represent a unique opportunity to encourage creativity and self expression in the world. Radar also encourages and finds reward for aspiring directors outside the festival, in education projects and in other commercial ventures. We’re always interested in working with new people and on new projects – get in touch if you’d like to discuss an idea, big or small.
Radar is run according to an ethical policy, which is to contribute good to people and the natural world.

Education Projects
Radar is developing projects to work with music video in UK schools and to create training projects for disadvantaged or excluded young people in London. We’re planning to involve interested Radar directors wherever possible, look out for news in the Radar magazine.
